Luis dropped his bags on the floor and looked around. This looked pretty much like the dorms at UNM. Being the first one in the room he claimed the left bed and sat down on it. Up and down the halls he could hear people moving into their perspective rooms but, at the moment, he was alone. That was fine as it gave him a chance to unpack, make his bed, hang his clothes in the closet and put up a couple of posters. The one above his head was called Man Cave Rules: The one on the wall where he could look up and see it when he laid in the bed was of his hero from the TV show CSI:LV Gil Grissom.

"Kyllä, olen tehnyt sen. Olen kunnossa, isä. Ehdottomasti liikaa valosaastetta, mutta ... Ei, en näe tähdet ..."
The melody of Finnish punctured the silence as the golden-haired man walked into the dorm, balancing what looked like a flip phone against his shoulder with his ear, while carrying a plastic bag in one hand, the other trying to balance the blue and black hiking pack that was half-slung over his shoulder. Offering a polite nod to the other in the room, Väinä gave him a welcoming smile and held up a finger for 'one moment.' He turned his attention back to his Motorola, "Tietenkin olen menettänyt ilman minun tähteä! Mutta minä ... Kyllä, Anteeksi, minun täytyy mennä. Anna rakkauteni Äiti, Hero ja Auriga, kyllä? Näkemiin!"
Setting his bag on the clearly unclaimed bed, The Fin flipped his phone shut with one hand and his shoulder, before slipping it into his pocket and turning around.
"Hei!" Väinä smiled at the other male, offering his hand, "S'rry ab'ut that. M' Fathaire's worri'd. Väinämöinen Hekkilä-Laakso-- and y'u aire?" He held out his hand in a friendly manner.

Luis was laying on his bed when this giant of a man speaking a strange language walked nonchalantly into the room and plopped his stuff on the vacant bed. He looked like a Norwegian god with his flowing, blonde locks, his chiseled good looks and his broad shoulders. He had never felt attracted to a man before but this guy made him feel something he'd never felt before. Damn, he was gorgeous.
Whoever he was speaking to he was trying to reassure them of his well-being. Finally finishing his conversation the blonde god turned in his direction, smiling friendly and introducing himself with a piece of meat he called a hand.
Jumping out of the bed with his full 5 feet 10 inches he looked up into his face and shook his hand.
"I'm Luis Verde," he smiled up at him. "So, you're my roommate? I hadn't expected a Norwegian. I figured they'd paired me up with another Hispanic, but no matter. It's nice to meet you. What language were you speaking just now?"
He didn't want to come across as rude but curiosity got the best of him.

"Luuis Vaireday..." Väinä tapped his chin after shaking the other's hand, "Löis... Luis... Luis." He furrowed his brow, not fully understanding the syllables of the name. Finnish and English vowels were much different... "...Vaireday?" He shook his head, dismissing the fact he couldn't pronounce his roommates's last name. Väinämöinen couldn't go a while without smiling, however, and that charming grin soon returned.
"From F'nland, Kyllä! That was Finnish!" The golden haired man's voice bounced with the lively melody of his accent. Väinämöinen took a rolled up paper from his bag and stood on his bed, taking a roll of tabs and putting it in his mouth. With many pieces of tape, Väinämöinen stuck an intricately detailed star chart on the roof above his bed. "Y'u c'n't see the stars here, too many lights." he explained, "'S unnervin'. M' Major is Astron'my. Stellaire sciences. Y'u?" He got down once more, looking back to his new roommate. Eyeing the posters above Luis' bed, Väinämöinen tilted his head, "CSI?"

He couldn't help but to laugh at his roommate's effort to pronounce his name. "Just say Looo-eezz and I'll call you Van," he grinned and moved over to his bed. Looking up he marveled at how detailed the star map was. "That's really beautiful."
"CSI?"
"Huh?" he turned to look at Van who was looking at his poster. "Oh yeah!" he laughed. "It's a TV show. CSI stands for Crime Scene Investigation. The main character is a Forensic Scientist name Gil Grissom and he and his team solve crimes. That's what I want to be. A Forensic Scientist like Gil Grissom. That would be so neat," he licked his lower lip as he studied the poster.

Väinämöinen nodded with a grin, "Loo-is." he pronounced slowly, "Luis." Finally able to get it right, the Fin looked back up to his star map and grinned, "Ah, not 's pretty 's the skies themselv's. Home in F'nland, there waire so many stars! See?" He rummaged through his bag and took an old book from it, flipping to a page: "That's the view From home, just up the heill." The Fin clasped his hands together, "So many stars up there, moi moi!" Listening to the other, Väinämöinen nodded eagerly, his grin never disappearing, "We're b'th in sciences then, Ystävä!" He flipped to a different page after giving Luis time to look at his photograph, eager to let his new friend see who he was. He wasn't trying to show off, but he was proud of his expeditions. Maybe his roommate would dive with him! "But th're's also stars in the sea, where I go. Kveekari!! You dive before, Kyllä?" He looked up with a hopeful smile, "No, then you must get y'ur lis'ence! Moi, moi, I could take you!" For now, even without his stars, Väinämöinen was a happy Fin.

"Luuis Vaireday -- Löis -- Loo-is -- Luis."
"There, you got it!" Luis chuckled at his attempts to pronounce his name and cheered when he got it right.
"That's the view From home, just up the heill."
"Wow! That's so beautiful," Luis's eyes got huge looking at the photo.
"We're b'th in sciences then, Ystävä!"
"Yes, we sure are," Luis grinned.
"But th're's also stars in the sea, where I go. Kveekari!! You dive before, Kyllä? No, then you must get y'ur lis'ence! Moi, moi, I could take you!"
"I would love to, Van, Vahn, Vane. I'm having as much trouble as you were having pronouncing my name," he laughed.

The Fin clapped eagerly, "Kylläää~! You and I sh'll get on fine!" He put His book on his nightstand and looked around the room with a crooked smile. "Väinä." he said promptly, sounding it out patiently for him, "Vaah-naah. L'ke 'Hannah', but with a V."
After a moment, he looked back to his friend, "Ah- W'uld you mind if I bathed? Th' trip was elev'n hours, 'n a day at th' aireport." He frowned, "Delayed by storms. 'n I'd really l'ke to be clean."
"S'rry if'n you w'nted to talk... I'll b' fast, Luis?" He nodded to his scrapbook, "Y'ure free t' look in it, too."

"Vaina," Luis finally got it right. "Sure, go ahead," he replied about him taking a shower. "I'll sit right here and look at your album." sat down on Vaina's bed and looked through the photo album glancing every so often Vaina's way. He'd never seen a man who was so pretty before.

The fin smiled and nodded his thanks, gathering up his shampoo and bar of soap from his bag before walking into their shared bathroom and closing the door. A moment later, he returned and grabbed his toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant, explaining with a shrug, "Might as well."
With that, Väinämöinen disappeared into the bathroom, relishing in the hot shower with a soft sigh.
