Gabrielle sighed calmly, taking a deep breath as she inhaled the clear air deeply. She always loved coming here. Its the perfect place to simply sit and let your thoughts wander, or walk your dog. She loved her quiet little town.
She had been to Dove park many times in her three years at Royal academy, and it never got old. It was a calm place for thinking, or taking a walk with a loved one. Gabby always smiled at the happy couples walking hand in hand throughout the park. They always looked so happy. Sighing again, her blue eyes fell on an ice cream stand not too far away from where she was. A coy smile reached her lips, debating whether she should indulge and buy a cone. She hadn't eaten anything all day except for that bagel and iced tea, and if she wanted to maintain her queen bee status, she needed to keep any unwanted weight off. Slipping off her sunglasses she placed them on her head, her dog S'more's leash in her right hand as she slowly walked up to the cart. "One vanilla bean cone, please," she said, her voice oddly sweet and soft. Taking the cone from him, she payed him before slipping her glasses back over her face and happily licking the cold treat. Her stomach growled lightly in anticipation as she continued to eat it happily, feeling her dog's gaze on her begging for a taste. "Oh, fine," she said rolling her eyes, giving in to him like she always did. She watched him quickly eat up the remainder of what was her cone, until there was nothing left. Petting his head lightly, she sighed and stood up, ready to continue her walk. Then she could go home and happily eat in peace without the stares from people.
Remembering that school started in less then a month, she bite her lip, both excited and depressed that classes were beginning again. Oh well. Maybe there would be some new good looking professors this year. Or cute exchange students. I always was a sucker for accents, she thought, a coy smirk on her lips. Though it quickly disappeared and was replaced with shock as she felt the red leash slip from her slender grasp and she helplessly watched her dog get farther and farther from her. "S'more!" she screamed knowing it would do no good. He usually listened to her, but it was different when they were out in public. Quickly running after him the best she could in her dress and heels, she knew it was useless but maybe he would stop or someone would find him. It was still the middle of the afternoon and the park was pretty empty, but she could only hope.
Trying to ignore the tears that were threatening to fall, she continued to run at her slow, awkward pace, sighing when the sight of S'more and someone else up ahead came into view. She didn't even care who the person was, just that her dog was safe. "There you are! Don't run away for me ever again," she spoke when she reached the two, her voice stern but relief clear in her voice. Picking up the leash she held it tight in her pale, manicured hand and wrapped her arms around her dog's neck. "Thank you for keeping him safe," she said to the person, still having not looked at them.
