paragraph:
Kitty has fluffy brown hair that falls to about her mid back. It often has some sort of wave or crimp to it, though on occasion she does like to straighten it as well. She usually can't be bothered to pull it back, not having the skill or patience to do much other than a ponytail. Her eyes are milky brown in color, almost like milk chocolate. They are framed by dark lashes and truly are the windows to her soul. One look in her eyes and it becomes fairly easy to read Kitty's emotions, not that she spends time trying to hide them. Her build is slender. She's tall and fairly thin, despite her love of sweets. She is in no way muscular, though she does have enough flexibility to touch her toes. She has a tanned complexion from spending countless hours outside taking pictures. Her ears are pierced twice each, and occasionally she can be seen wearing necklaces, bracelets, and anklets. As for clothing, Kitty will wear just about anything as long as it's comfortable. She's not the biggest fan of designer labels, though she does admit that that at least half of her wardrobe consists of several rather popular name brands. Still, she more comfortable in a pair of grass-stained jeans and an old t-shirt, as it's easier to hunt for a perfect picture location in them than it is a fancy sun dress.
Kitty has a high sun tolerance and does not object to spending a good twelve plus hours outdoors. She also has decent endurance, making the task of walking or running several miles fairly easy. A rather large amount of money is also at her disposal, which is sometimes both a good and bad thing. She lacks in the balance department, though surprisingly she has fairly decent sea legs. She's fallen down more flights of stairs than she has off the side of a boat (though that has happened to her twice). Kitty also lacks a sense of direction, which when coupled with her naïveté make for one easily lost and confused girl.

•• don't know where she belongs ••
history:
It was a lovely spring day in May, May 17th, to be exact. That was the day Kitty was first held in her mother's arms, staring bright-eyed at her two older siblings, parents, and the few doctors and nurses that were in the hospital room. And not a single cry was to be heard from her lips.
Growing up, Kitty was never an overly vocal child. She let her creativity do the talking for her. Finger-paints were her favorite, and she’d easily been caught scribbling on the living room walls a few times. She was spoiled for the first two years of her life, at that time being the baby of the family. And then her little sister came along, not that Kitty minded the shift in attention giving. She was in that terrible twos stage after all, and less attention on her meant getting herself into more trouble.
Getting out of trouble was, and still is, a problem for Kitty. She pays more attention to her own little fantasy world than she does the real one, and often wears the expression of a deer trapped in headlights whenever she's involved in something that goes wrong. Of course, before she has time to be scolded, the girl usually bolts, running to the first quiet place she can find. It is then that she lets her imagination run wild, attempting to escape the drama that is her life, and it is then that she gets her best inspiration for a new movie script, painting, or shot story.
That is how Kitty spent much of her free time, and still spends it. The rest of her life is filled with being dragged shopping by her two sisters, studying at the finest schools, arguing with her father over her plans for the future, and taking pictures. In truth, she wouldn’t really have it any other way. Well, maybe her relationship with her father could be better, but something had to be sacrificed in the name of her passions.
The Monclaire family is not a middle class family, or even an upper-middle class family. They are the upper class, with millions of dollars to spend, three large houses, membership to an exclusive country club, maids, a butler, a cook, a nanny, and a car for every member of the family, even though the youngest doesn't even have his permit yet. While Kitty does love her Mazerratti, she's much more comfortable in a pair of grass-stained jeans and childish t-shirt than she is the designer clothing her siblings wear. She has a bad habit of finding the most secluded, beautiful places hidden within a ton of muck. If she’s going to end up stepping in a few mud puddles and tearing her t-shirts on thorny bushes, why bother ruining the good stuff?
With money comes privilege, and Mr. Monclaire accepts only the best for his children. Thus, he and Kitty have never seen eye to eye. She was more interested in pursuing the arts while he wanted her to go into a respectable, high paying position. They ended up clashing over college choices, especially since Kitty has no intention of going to one of the Ivy League Colleges her father picked out (though she does admit that both Yale and UPenn are gorgeous). It took a lot of begging and pleading, but Kitty was finally able to get her father to settle for Royal Academy. It does have a highly respectable reputation after all, even if it isn't Harvard.
personality:
Kitty prides herself on being able to do things on her own. Unfortunately, that usually gets her into more trouble than it’s worth. While possessing great creativity and a wild imagination, Kitty is strongly lacking in the commonsense department. There have been many times when she accidently caught private conversations on tape. Never a fan of drama, it's times like those that she usually runs and finds someplace quiet to hide until everything blows over. It is also those times that she gets her greatest inspiration, and while there is always a camera in her hands there's also always a notebook in her bag.
Quiet and curious, Kitty becomes more sociable the more she gets to know someone. She tends to wear her emotions on her sleeve, which isn't always a good thing. Her imagination loves to get the better of her, and she is easily caught off guard because she spends so much time daydreaming. And, as much as she loves independence, she almost always needs a push in the right direction, however, else she ends up a few blocks south of her destination and in more trouble than she bargained for.
It can be said that Kitty day/dreams in color. Racing thoughts, a million little plot bunnies, glimpses of perfect locations, and the most recent song she heard are just the tip of what goes on in Kitty's mind. She has countless unfinished ideas, some of which are lucky enough to be put down on paper. If she can't get her thoughts out in writing or a picture, self expression becomes harder for Kitty. The last thing she enjoys is being thrust in the spotlight. She prefers to sit back and watch, and becomes rather self-conscious when asked to sing or dance. Though she doesn't like to admit it, she's also very old fashioned when it comes to romance, which is why she spends more time fantasizing about fictional couples instead of trying to find herself a decent boyfriend. And like all people, she suffers her emotional highs and lows, though when she does get depressed, which is rare, it's nearly impossible for those around her to tell.
Kitty's imagination is probably her greatest strength. She always manages to find the good in even the worst of situations, unless she's scared out of her wits at the time. She also likes to believe she's an optimist. And, her documentation skills are excellent. She tends to take pictures of everyone and everything thing and usually remembers even the most random of minor details. Her intelligence is also a plus, but it's usually balanced out by her naïveté and lack of common sense.
Kitty does not deal well in leadership positions at all. As much as she likes being in charge of her own life, she can't stand being in charge of others. Kitty is also a bit naïve, which usually doesn't work to her advantage. Her lack of common sense always gets her in trouble. And then there's her biggest weakness which sums up nicely as, "Curiosity killed the cat."

criminal record: No. Kitty’s a “good” girl.
secrets:
1. Hides her anxiety well behind her smile, one of the few emotions she manages to keep bottled up.
2. Hasn’t had a decent relationship with her father since she was twelve, though in public they always appear right as rain together.
3. She once shoplifted a bracelet on a dare, and didn’t get caught. She still has the bracelet, and the only one who knows is her older sister.

It was cute. It was fluffy. It was downright adorable! And no, it was not an animal. It was a little cheesy though.
Kitty drummed her nails against the wooden table she was sitting at, brown eyes glaring at her laptop. The damn thing wasn't loading fast enough. Normally she was a rather patient person, but at the moment she had just gotten an idea for an excruciatingly cute romance scene and she wanted to type it up as fast as possible. Sure, she had more important things to do than work on some silly little story she'd probably never finish or publish, but at the moment she wanted to write. And that annoying little hourglass that pretended to be the mouse cursor was preventing her from doing just that.
"Finally!" The word came out a little louder than she had hoped, earning her a warning look from the librarian. She sent the woman an apologetic look before turning back to her laptop, which had finally loaded.
With a double click of the mouse a Microsoft Word document opened over the desktop picture of Kitty's large and beloved family. She hadn't been away from them long enough to be homesick just yet, but Arizona was still a long way from Rhode Island and she was still getting used to the fact that her sisters weren't going to pop up out of nowhere just to drag her to the mall.
With a soft smile and a shake of her head, Kitty focused on the glowing white screen in front of her. As soon as the idea had popped into her head she had shoved her camera in her bag and rushed to the library to write. Ah the joys of messenger bags, they could hold anything and everything and still look stylish. Her fingertips hovered over the keyboard for a few minutes as she pondered how to start. Then the sound of rapid typing filled the immediate area around her.
Kitty paused in her typing, rereading what she had just written. She liked the way it was turning out, but wasn't quite sure how to continue it. She had typed a few notes after the little story blurb so that she wouldn't forget why the setting was a hospital and why Emily was wishing Bobby luck. She would figure out the plot, length, and other important details of the story later. Right now she just wanted to get that cute little scene out of her head and down on paper.
"Hmm, maybe his name shouldn't be Bobby..." she whispered to herself, thinking aloud. She wracked her brain for decent guys names that didn't remind her too much of anyone she knew. To bad there wasn't anyone around to help her brainstorm.

"Bobby, wait..." came Emily's soft call.
Bobby turned around and crossed back to his friend's hospital bed, confusion etched into his features. He was startled even more so when Emily grabbed the collar of his coat and pulled him down to her eye level, a small smile gracing her lips.
"For luck," she answered his unspoken question. She then closed the distance between them and planted a chaste kiss on Bobby's lips. The man barely had a chance to return the kiss before she pulled away, amusement dancing in her eyes. He returned her amused look with a devilish grin of his own.
